■The Braves won for the second straight night in their final at-bat and lead the NL with 22 of those victories.

■ Chipper Jones batted sixth, the lowest he’s hit in the Atlanta order since 1997.

■The Phillies unveiled a statue for their treasured late broadcaster, Harry Kalas. Kalas died in 2009.

■The Reds’ Edgar Renteria left in the seventh inning after he strained his left groin while running the bases. He will be re-evaluated today.

■Detroit’s Delmon Young and Miguel Cabrera were thrown out at second in back-to-back at-bats in the sixth, trying to stretch singles into doubles.

■Minnesota’s Tsuyoshi Nishioka turned a slick double play in the eighth, fielding Brennan Boesch’s grounder up the middle, sweeping his right leg across second base as he ran by, then throwing to first.

■Before Russell Branyan’s two pinch-hit homers (Monday night and Saturday night off Mariano Rivera at Yankee Stadium), the Angels hadn’t hit a pinch-hit homer since September 2009.
