■Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman has reached base in 40 of his last 44 games.

■The Phillies are 19-4 in Roy Halladay’s 23 starts.

■ Rockies second baseman Mark Ellis snapped an 0-for-25 skid with a third-inning single.

Atlanta is one of only two teams (Philadelphia) that hasn’t been swept this season in a series of at least three games.

■Giants reliever Guillermo Mota last struck out six in a game during a three-inning outing May 29, 2003, with the Dodgers.

■Tigers right fielder Magglio Ordonez grounded into double plays in his first two at-bats, then singled and was erased when Miguel Cabrera hit into a double play.

■Royals manager Ned Yost said rookie third baseman Mike Moustakas will not be in the lineup again tonight, as he worked with hitting coach Kevin Seitzer. Moustakas is hitting .194 in 41 games.
