Dustin Pedroia was named American League Player of the Month today after batting .411 (46-for-112) in July. It was the first time in his career the Red Sox second baseman earned the monthly honor.
Pedroia, who had a career-high 25-game hitting streak from June 29 to July 28, had nine doubles, one triple, eight home runs, 22 RBIs and 27 runs scored in 26 games during July.
