CHICAGO — The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that the Red Sox are close to completing a trade for Oakland RHP Rich Harden, a talented starter with a long history of injury issues.
Lars Anderson, who was pulled from the Pawtucket game tonight, may be part of the deal.
More on this as it becomes available.
UPDATE, 9:47 p.m.: Nick Cafardo has confirmed that the Sox acquired Harden for Anderson and a player to be named later. Harden is 2-1 with a 4.30 ERA in five starts since returning from injury. He will be a free agent after the season.
