The Cubs rode a three-game win streak into Milwaukee but struggled mightily in this series, scoring just four runs in three games. The last time the Brewers swept the Cubs in Milwaukee was May 3-5, 2005.
Shaun Marcum (10-3) pitched six innings to win his third straight for the Brewers. LaTroy Hawkins and Francisco Rodriguez each pitched a scoreless inning and John Axford recorded his 30th save in 32 chances.
The Cubs’ Randy Wells (2-4) took the loss, giving up all four runs on eight hits.
Rays 10, Athletics 8 - Desmond Jennings hit his first career home run and later added a two-run double in a seven-run seventh inning and Tampa Bay rallied from five runs down to stun host Oakland.
B.J. Upton and Evan Longoria also homered, helping make a winner out of righthander Wade Davis (8-7), who struggled early before settling down to retire 17 straight batters.
Conor Jackson had a two-run home run in the first inning when the A’s hit for the cycle with four straight batters, but Oakland’s bullpen imploded and wasted a solid outing by starter Rich Harden.
Rangers 4, Twins 1 - Matt Harrison worked into the eighth inning to cap his unbeaten July for host Texas and won a pitcher’s duel against Minnesota’s Scott Baker.
Harrison (9-7) allowed one run over 7 ⅓ innings with two strikeouts and a walk.

Mets 10, Reds 9 - Lucas Duda and Jason Bay each drove in three runs with bases-loaded doubles and visiting New York completed its first four-game sweep of reeling Cincinnati.
David Wright went 3 for 5 to extend his hitting streak to seven games (15 for 33, .455) since coming off the disabled list July 22.
Marlins 5, Nationals 2 - Mike Stanton homered for the second consecutive game and five relievers held host Washington to one run over 5 ⅓ innings as Florida finished a three-game sweep. Stanton hit his 24th homer of the season and fourth in his last six games.
Padres 4, Diamondbacks 3 - Jesus Guzman had two RBIs and rookie Luis Martinez drove in the go-ahead run as host San Diego avoided a three-game sweep.
Blue Jays 8, Orioles 5 - Edwin Encarnacion and Eric Thames hit back-to-back home runs, Carlos Villanueva won for the first time in five starts, and host Toronto held off Baltimore.
Angels 12, Tigers 7- Mark Trumbo homered and drove in a career-high five runs to lift visiting Los Angeles over Detroit.
Pirates 5, Braves 2 - Andrew McCutchen had three hits, including a double in the fifth inning that gave Pittsburgh the lead and a two-run homer in the ninth that ensured a four-game split with host Atlanta.
Astros 5, Cardinals 3 - Wandy Rodriguez pitched seven innings and retired the last 13 batters he faced and Jason Bourgeois hit a tiebreaking double in the fifth inning to lead Houston in St. Louis.
