COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - Shalrie Joseph scored on a penalty kick in the 90th minute as the Revolution salvaged a 2-2 draw with the Colorado Rapids last night.

Benny Feilhaber scored in the 25th minute for the Revolution (4-9-8), which kept Colorado frustrated most of the game.

Caleb Folan scored on a penalty kick in the 65th minute to tie the score and Kosuke Kimura gave Colorado (7-6-10) the lead in the 82d with a kick from midfield that bounced over the head of goalkeeper Matt Reis.

The Revolution had the game in control when the Rapids were awarded a penalty that Folan converted, sending a shot into the middle of the back netting past the spot vacated by Reis in the 65th minute.

Revolution defender Chris Tierney received a red-card ejection after the call for disputing the penalty.

Playing a man short, the Revolution had a scoring chance in the 76th minute. Joseph had his shot from inside the box blocked before it reached Matt Pickens.

Then Kimura sent a harmless kick from midfielder that Reis came up to catch. Instead, the ball bounded high over Reis and into the goal.

But New England put pressure on the Colorado defense in the last three minutes. The Revolution were awarded a penalty kick and Joseph easily beat goalkeeper Pickens on the kick.

The Rapids are 3-0-5 against the Revolution since last losing to New England in 2007.

Feilhaber’s goal was the only shot the Revolution had in the first half. Kevin Alston made a long inbounds pass to Stephen McCarthy in front of the crease. McCarthy sent a header back to Feilhaber in the slot, who ripped a shot just under the crossbar.

The Revolution double- and triple-teamed Sanna Nyassi. Nyassi broke free momentarily to get a shot off in the 30th minute only to have Reis deflect the shot past the right post.
