Authorities say a tractor-trailer has crashed into a horse-drawn buggy in southern Kentucky, killing a young Amish girl and injuring three members of her family.
Hopkinsville Police Department spokesman Paul Ray tells The Kentucky New Era that the tractor-trailer was behind the two-horse buggy when the truck’s driver attempted to shift lanes about 8:30 p.m. Friday. He says the truck struck the buggy, flattening it and knocking off its wheels.
Two victims from the buggy were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. A third person was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
