Matt Damon joked with the Daily Record in Scotland about all of the roles he’s reportedly turned down. Damon tells the Record that despite reports that he turned down the lead in “Avatar,’’ he couldn’t do the movie because of a scheduling conflict. “Actually, I would never pass on a Jim Cameron movie. The truth is I was finishing ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ and I literally couldn’t do it. I was desperate to work with him,’’ Damon says. He adds that he had hoped to take on Josh Brolin’s role in “Milk.’’ Again, he didn’t turn the part down; it was just another scheduling conflict. “I was going off to do ‘Green Zone’ and I literally couldn’t do it because of the conflict. There was a writers’ strike coming up, so I had to bow out of ‘Milk’ and it really upset me.’’
