Steel yourself When working-class West Indian immigrants David Hinds, Ronnie “Stepper’’ McQueen, and Basil Gabbidon started the band Steel Pulse in 1975 England, they had little musical experience but a lot of chutzpah and soul. They honed their technique opening for bands such as the Clash and the Police while establishing their sound and popularity.
