BOUNCING SOULS It has become fashionable to do full albums in concert but these veteran New Jersey pop punks are going several steps further with their “For All the Unheard’’ tour, doing a whopping eight — two albums a night — over four nights. (There are only six albums left as the run started last night.) June 23-25, 8 p.m. Tickets: $18-$20. Middle East Downstairs. 617-864-3278, www.ticketweb.com

JD SOUTHER On his charming new album, “A Natural History,’’ the revered but undersung singer-songwriter offers his versions of tunes he wrote or co-wrote that are more often associated with others including “New Kid in Town’’ (the Eagles), “I’ll Take Care of You’’ (the Dixie Chicks), and “Faithless Love’’ (Linda Ronstadt). June 25, 7 p.m. Tickets: $22. Johnny D’s. 617-776-2004, www.johnnyds.com

FOLK, WORLD & COUNTRY

LAURA GRILL BAND It’s jump jazz, it’s barroom rock, it’s chamber folk, and it’s downright infectious. That’s the first impression you get from Laura Grill Band’s debut, “Never Before.’’ Having honed her skills at the New England Conservatory, Grill is celebrating the album with a release show featuring Mia Friedman and Mr. Sister, other local Americana revivalists who don’t fit neatly into one category. June 23, 9 p.m. Tickets: $10. Lizard Lounge. 617-547-0759, www.brownpapertickets.com

INDIGO GIRLS The road is where Emily Saliers and Amy Ray have spent most of their careers as the Indigo Girls, and their vibrant, communal concerts are proof that’s where they belong. As part of the Lowell Summer Music Series, the pair has a two-night stand with power-pop band the Shadowboxers opening. As of press time, Friday’s concert was sold out, but tickets are still available for tonight. June 23-24, 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $35, $27 in advance. Boarding House Park, 40 French St., Lowell. 978-970-5200, www.lowellsummermusic.org
