The NHL announced that the 2011-12 home opener for the Stanley Cup champion Bruins will be Thursday, Oct. 6, against the Philadelphia Flyers. On that night, the Bruins will raise to the rafters of TD Garden the franchise’s sixth championship banner.
The game also will be the season opener for the team.
