Stock market falls for sixth straight week

Fears that the global recovery has stalled pushed the Dow below 12,000 for the first time since March and drove the market lower for the sixth week. Weak economic news has dampened hopes for a steady recovery. If the indexes continue their slide for another week, it would be the first time in 10 years that the market suffered a seven-week stretch of losses.
