Car slams into bus bench, 1 dead and 3 injured

San Diego police say one person is dead and three are injured after a woman crashed her car into a San Diego bus bench.

Officer David Stafford says the 70-year-old driver veered onto the sidewalk shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday and hit the bench where a man, a woman and a 10-year-old boy were sitting.

Stafford says the 25-year-old woman died after being rushed to a hospital. The 28-year-old man was being treated for several broken bones and internal injuries, the boy suffered a broken arm and lacerations, and the driver sustained minor injuries.
