On June 25, Comfort Zone Camp will hold a one-day camp for children and teens who lost a loved one to suicide.

The nonprofit bereavement camp, in partnership with the Samaritans of Boston and the Department of Public Health and Suicide Prevention, will match attendees with mentors who will participate in support groups and other activities, a statement from Comfort Zone said.

“At camp we see what challenges kids face after the death of a loved one and how they are trying to overcome those challenges," said Pete Shrock, Comfort Zone Camp’s National Program Director, in a statement. "We want to equip them with healthy coping skills to replace or prevent unhealthy behaviors like substance abuse, eating disorders and suicidal thoughts, that often result from unaddressed grief.”

The camp, which will be held at the Shore County Day School on Cabot Street, is open to youths between the ages of 7 and 17, a Comfort Zone statement said. 18-year-olds are also welcome provided they are still in high school, according to the statement.

Those interested in attending the camp must register by Monday and can do so through http://www.comfortzonecamp.org/, or by phone at (781) 756-4840, the statement said.
