Boston’s African-American community once was centered in the North End, then Beacon Hill, the South End, and the highlands of Roxbury. Tour three centuries of African-American neighborhoods on Feb. 12, during one of the city’s many events celebrating Black History Month. The Black History Trolley Tour departs Roxbury Heritage State Park (183 Roxbury St.) at 12:30 p.m. and Hotel 140 (140 Clarendon St.) at 12:50 p.m., and runs until 3 p.m. You will visit historic churches, hear about local struggles during the civil rights movement, and learn about Boston’s African-American art scene and most prominent figures.
