CONCORD, N.H. — The 206th birthday of New Hampshire’s Franklin Pierce was marked yesterday.

The nation’s 14th president was honored in Old North Cemetery, where the New Hampshire Army National Guard and the Governor’s Horse Guard laid a wreath at his gravesite.

The New Hampshire Political Library and the Pierce Brigade invited the community to the public ceremony.

The wreath is sent annually from the White House to commorate his birth and contributions.
