KUNG FU PANDA

(Comcast Movies: All Movies) The star of this computer-generated family film isn’t Jack Black but the design-and-render gurus at DreamWorks Animation. Black provides the voice of a goofball panda in medieval China, desperate to prove himself to a Yoda-like master (Dustin Hoffman). (PG; runs through Oct. 18)

ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN

(Comcast Movies: All Movies) Manny the mammoth (voice of Ray Romano), Diego the saber-toothed tiger (Denis Leary), and Sid the sloth (John Leguizamo) look for higher ground when the glaciers melt. Pure sequel product that will please children and undemanding grown-ups. Others may wonder why a kiddie movie is the only place our culture is willing to address global warming. The Scrat sequences are the best. With Queen Latifah. (PG; runs through Oct. 18) TY BURR

RUSH HOUR

(Comcast Movies: All Movies) Jackie Chan is paired with shrill comic Chris Tucker. They’re mismatched cops in LA trying to get the Chinese consul’s daughter back from kidnappers. It’s not a bad action comedy, but it’s nothing to say wow about, and that’s what we’ve come to expect from stunt phenom Chan. (PG-13; runs through Oct. 18)
