Airlines ease advance-purchase rules

DALLAS - US carriers, including Delta Air Lines Inc. and AMR Corp.’s American Airlines, have dropped their advance-purchase rules through the holiday season, cutting ticket prices, the travel website Bestfares.com reported.

The fare requirements were changed Wednesday and run through Jan. 4, Bestfares.com’s chief executive, Tom Parsons, said in an e-mail message.
