BRONCO BILLY

(Encore on Comcast) Clint Eastwood fashions a most entertaining film from the fabric of a modern day, flea-bitten Wild West Show. Sondra Locke (above, with Eastwood) and Scatman Crothers head a terrific supporting cast. One thing’s for sure, ole Clint would never give us any mechanical bull. (PG; runs through Dec. 24)

GORILLAS IN THE MIST

(Encore on Comcast) Sigourney Weaver attacks the role of primatologist Dian Fossey with the high-mindedness of a Hepburn. When she’s on screen with the mountain gorillas Fossey saved from extinction, the film is involving, almost mystical. The rest of the time, Weaver’s ladylike demeanor makes it play like a National Geographic movie of Fossey’s life. (PG-13; runs through Dec. 24)

LEAN ON ME

(Encore on Comcast) Morgan Freeman’s fiery and charismatic performance as controversial New Jersey high school principal Joe Clark, who expelled dope dealers and maintained discipline with a bullhorn and baseball bat, carries this film past its simplistic rigging. (PG-13; runs through Dec. 24)
