Merriman, 25, was taken into custody and booked into the central jail at about 8:30 a.m. He was released shortly after 11 a.m.
Tequila was taken to a hospital. Her condition was not immediately available.
Caldwell said deputies determined Tequila had been drinking, although she wasn’t sure about Merriman. Caldwell said there were other people at the house, but wasn’t sure if any of Merriman’s teammates were there.
Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, is best known for bisexual dating show “A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila,’’ which ran for two seasons on MTV.
Players had been off since after Friday night’s exhibition finale against San Francisco. They are due back at practice today.
Merriman, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, has been getting back into shape after missing nearly all of last season following knee surgery. Merriman was suspended four games for testing positive for steroids in 2006.
Milloy heads home
The Seahawks signed 35-year-old safety Lawyer Milloy to a one-year contract, bringing the veteran back to the area where he grew up. The team made the announcement a day after cutting two-year starter Brian Russell. Milloy grew up in Tacoma and played for the University of Washington before being drafted by the Patriots in 1996. He played seven seasons there, three with Buffalo, and the last three years in Atlanta . . . Texans cornerback Dunta Robinson ended his holdout - signing the one-year deal the team had been offering. Robinson balked when the team placed the franchise tag on him, saying he wanted more than the $9.957 million that came with the designation . . .
