Wang is now 5-0 in six career starts against the Tigers, including two wins over Jeremy Bonderman this month. Bonderman (10-7) fell to 0-6 in his last eight starts. He gave up seven runs, eight hits, and four walks in 5 2/3 innings. Bonderman did not strike out a batter as Detroit fell to 12-25 since July 19.
Cardinals 5, Braves 4 -- Jim Edmonds and Albert Pujols had two hits and an RBI each and host St. Louis beat Atlanta, snapping Tim Hudson's nine-game winning streak.
Hudson (15-6), who had not lost since June 4, saw an even longer streak go by the boards. He had been 76-0 when given a lead of three or more runs, dating to Aug. 23, 2000, when Hudson was with Oakland and lost, 7-5, to Cleveland.
Blue Jays 9, Angels 2 -- In Anaheim, Calif., Troy Glaus hit a two-run homer, Frank Thomas had a two-run double, and Gregg Zaun also drove in a pair as Toronto rolled.
Shaun Marcum (11-5) won for the sixth time in his last seven starts, allowing two runs and eight hits over six innings with two walks and one strikeout.
Indians 9, Royals 4 -- Grady Sizemore and Victor Martinez homered, and Aaron Laffey won his third big league start as Cleveland defeated host Kansas City.
The Indians batted around in a five-run first against Kyle Davies before Sizemore led off the second with his 22d home run. Martinez, who had three hits, delivered his 19th with two outs to make it 7-0.
Diamondbacks 3, Cubs 1 -- Conor Jackson hit a two-run homer and Doug Davis won for the sixth time in seven decisions, leading Arizona past Chicago in Phoenix.
Ted Lilly (13-7) allowed one run on four hits over six innings for the Cubs, who maintained a 1 1/2-game lead over Milwaukee following the Brewers' loss in San Francisco.
Mets 4, Dodgers 3 -- Orlando Hernandez pitched seven sharp innings to improve to 5-0 in his last nine starts, and Carlos Delgado snapped an 0-for-19 skid with a two-run single to lead host New York.
David Wright, who homered Friday, had an RBI single, scored twice, and reached base all four times up. Jeff Conine added a run-scoring double in his first start for the Mets, who have won nine of their last 12.
