Blue Jays 12, Dodgers 1 -- Frank Thomas hit his 497th career home run and Roy Halladay won his third consecutive start as host Toronto beat Los Angeles.
Gregg Zaun and Matt Stairs also homered for the Blue Jays, who scored a season-high eight runs in the second inning.
Athletics 5, Reds 3 -- Nick Swisher drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the score in the seventh inning, then Eric Chavez followed with a sacrifice fly in host Oakland's victory over Cincinnati.
That saved the day for A's ace Dan Haren, who won his ninth straight decision and third consecutive start.
Cardinals 7, Royals 6 -- Ryan Ludwick homered off Jorge de la Rosa leading off the 14th inning, giving host St. Louis the victory over Kansas City.
Kip Wells (3-11) needed 10 pitches to retire the side in order in the 13th and worked around David DeJesus's one-out triple in the 14th, striking out cleanup hitter John Buck with two men on to end the inning. The struggling Wells, who has the most losses in the majors, was scratched from Tuesday's start three hours before the game.
Tigers 8, Nationals 4 -- Detroit scored more than 10 runs per game in its first visit to RFK Stadium in 36 years and wrapped up its three-game series by pounding Washington pitching again, and giving Jeremy Bonderman his eighth straight victory.
