Dominik Hasek made 27 saves for his 73d NHL shutout and Dan Cleary scored twice to lift the Red Wings to a 5-0 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets last night in Detroit.

Nicklas Lidstrom added a goal and an assist for Detroit, and Kirk Maltby and Jason Williams also scored. Hasek's league-leading fifth shutout of the season moved into 10th place on the career list, one spot ahead of Lorne Chabot.

Cleary has six goals and seven assists in his last 10 games. He passed Henrik Zetterberg for the team lead with 13 goals and all but one of his 24 points have come in a 20-game span.

Detroit led, 2-0, after the first period on Cleary's two goals.

Predators 2, Blackhawks 1 -- Paul Kariya scored twice in the third period, and Nashville beat host Chicago for its fifth straight win.

Kariya's power-play goal with 7:02 left snapped a 1-1 tie. He fired a screened shot from the right circle by Nikolai Khabibulin.

Chris Mason made 28 saves in his 13th straight start for Nashville. He is 9-3-1 since top goalie Tomas Vokoun underwent hand surgery Nov. 27.

Martin Havlat scored for the Blackhawks, 7-2-3 since Denis Savard replaced fired coach Trent Yawney Nov. 27. Havlat has five goals and five assists in seven games since returning from a sprained right ankle.

Ducks 4, Stars 1 -- Corey Perry scored twice and Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 26 shots to lead Anaheim over visiting Dallas.

Anaheim's two Norris Trophy-winning defensemen, Chris Pronger and Scott Niedermayer, also scored to help the Ducks improve their NHL-best mark to 27-4-6.

The win was Giguere's 23d of the season, also a league high, and he's 11-1 in his last 12 starts.
