Immelman, who lost a playoff to Jim Furyk in the Wachovia Championship last week, had a bogey-free 64 on the 7,052-yard TPC at Las Colinas. Brett Wetterich (70) was a stroke back at 10-under 200. Charley Hoffman (65), Chad Campbell (65), Joe Ogilvie (69), and Omar Uresti (69) were tied for fourth at 202.
Scott, the 25-year-old Australian who two years ago became the youngest winner of The Players Championship, has led after 54 holes three previous times. He had the outright lead each time, and won each time.
A 54-hole leader has won 16 of 18 PGA Tour events this year.
Arron Oberholser shot a 72, including a double bogey on the 18th, a day after shooting a tournament-record 60, to finish at 4-under 206.
Immelman had a chance to match Scott for the lead at the 196-yard 17th, but his 13-foot birdie putt slid right of the hole and he settled for par to remain 11 under. At that time, Scott was at No. 15, at 12 under.
Scott had four birdies the first eight holes, including a 7-footer on No. 8 to get to 14 under. Hitting an iron off the ninth tee, Scott's ball disappeared under a tree and trickled into the water to the right of the fairway. He had to drop on a slope 159 yards away, then punched a shot 40 feet past the pin. He two-putted for a bogey.
Wetterich started the weekend tied for the tournament lead for the second straight year. Again, he couldn't make a move in the third round. But his 70 was three better than last year.
LPGA -- Methodical and steady, Karrie Webb is looking more and more like the player who once ruled women's golf in opening a five-shot lead after three rounds of the Michelob Ultra Open in Williamsburg, Va.
Webb shot a 5-under 66 for a 13-under 200 total. The Hall of Famer with 31 victories -- including this year's first major, the Kraft Nabisco -- will try to hold off Pat Hurst (69), Lorena Ochoa (65), and Cristie Kerr (70) in the final round on the River Course at Kingsmill.
Webb asserted herself with three consecutive birdies on the front nine, starting when she made a 7-foot putt on the par-3 fifth. She hit her approach to about 8 feet on the par-4 sixth and made that, then hit her third on the par-5 seventh to about 10 feet, rolling that one in, too, to reach 11 under.
Champions -- Bobby Wadkins followed his course-record 62 with an even-par 71 to take a three-stroke lead over Craig Stadler and John Harris after the second round of the Boeing Championship in Destin, Fla.
Wadkins, winless on the Tour since 2001, had three birdies and three bogeys to finish at 9-under 133. Stadler (65) and Harris (66) were 6 under.
European -- Paul Casey shot a 2-under 70 for a two-stroke lead over Michael Campbell after the third round of the British Masters in Sutton Coldfield, England.
